How much should I sell a pair of chrome nerf bars for with some rust damage? Question: I have a pair of chrome nerf bars/step sides whatever you want to call them. They have some rust spots on the parts of the metal where it curves to go under the truck. I have gotten rid of all surface rust. The largest spot is an inch long. I am just looking to sell these. How can I lower nerf bars on ford escape? Question: Bought brand new Aries nerf bars for 2010 Escape. The sit too high and stick out farther than I like. What size are the nerf bars/running boards on the 06 Dodge Ram. Are they 3",4" or 5"? Question: I was looking to get nerf bar style running boards for my 06 Ram and wanted to know what size the factory uses on the trucks. I have seen the trucks with nerf bars that bend in and others that are straight. If I had to guess on the OEM part, I would say they are 4" but I am not sure. Any ideas. Thank you Answer: 3" |

Anyone ever put bed liner on their nerf bars? Question: I'm looking to put bed liner on the nerf bars of my truck. Should I attempt to do it myself, or should I have it done professionally? If I do it myself what brand of bed liner should I use? Are there kits available? Cost? Answer: i have bedlined my grill-guard, my nerf-bars, roof-rack, front/rear bumper, rocker-panels, and rock-sliders. Here is a shopping list, you should be able to find almost all of it at auto-zone Green "auto" masking tape and the free add newspapers you can find in any city. if you aren't taking the bars off to paint them. 50grit sand paper green scrub pad 2-3 rags that wont leave fuzzy crap on the metal 2 cans duplicolor SELF ETCHING PRIMER 3 cans duplicolor bedliner spray cans Sand the rails with the 50grit until the whole surface is rough, go over it with the green scrub pad, dampen one of the rags and wipe down the whole thing to get the dust off, then dry rub it with another rag, wait 15 min for all moisture to go away. spray 1-2 coats of the self etching primer evenly and lightly (just enough to cover with each coat) then once that has dried for about 15 min start spraying the bedliner on, keep the can about 8 inches away and move as quickly but evenly as you can, you might want to practice a few squirts on some cardboard to see how it acts, this stuff does not spray like regular paint. keep adding coats until you are satisfied. I always put on 3 coats. if you follow what i laid out, i can promise you that you wont have anything chipping or coming off in the next 5 years or more. This method holds up to rock chips quite well! |

How Hard is it to install running boards/ nerf bars on a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500? Question: I just bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 and it did not have Running Boards on it. I found some on E-bay that I would like to order and when looking at the underneath of the truck I am not sure where they mounted. I am getting chrome nerf bars, any idea how hard they are to mount.
