Also, should I go for the extended warranty? Is it really worthy it? I don't want to pay out of pocket for all repairs (that can get expensive) and I'm not nearly savvy enough to work on the car myself if need be. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated... in response to Imperfect (below) the KBB value of it is a little over $12,000 dollars retail. I test drove an altima and I didn't like it. It was just too big, felt like I was driving a bus or something. Answer: Thats a good deal. Don't buy the extended warranty it is a waste of money. I priced them out in the used car guide at $12,825. That is without automatic transmission. $13,450 with auto transmission. Without air conditioning is $750 dollars less. |

95 honda civic selling dilemna- replace engine or sell as is? Question: I have a 95 honda civic dx and need to sell. The problem is the mechanic says it needs a new engine and I need advice wether to sell as is or go ahead and replace engine (after I get 2nd opinion on wether it needs it or not). The body is clean but needs a few simple moldings, a/c works good, will sell with 17" Konig rims with new low profile tires, Kenwood deck, two tens, 2-channel 1000 watt amp (one channel blown) has 155,000 miles. We have replaced the following: radiator, water pump, timing belt, master cylinder, a/c compressor, recently brake pads and some other smaller things. Anyone have any suggestions on what I could sell this for with or without engine replacement. I know a lot of people like to swap out the engines and are looking for clean rides to put it in and this car is definitely clean, just a few minor clean up jobs. Before engine problems started it got about 30mpg city and ran very smooth. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks Answer: My opinion is sell it as it is. And you won't get much for it. You replace engine, it will cost you minimal of a rebuilt engine (~2000) and labor. Or you can install old high mileage engine, and labor (~1000). You are going to need get about $3000 more for the car to make it worth it. However, if you would like to drive it, then replace the engine. |

What accessories should I add to my 2010 Nissan Xterra? Question: I bought the Nissan Xterra (model X) in black. This week, I'm adding: leather seats, navigation, step rails, fog lights, body moldings, retractable cargo cover, and a more sensitive alarm system. I still want to add: lojack, headrest tv screens, window tinting, an amp/sub, custom license plates, black rims, rhinestone license plate frames and rhinestone lettering (that will spell out my cars name "audrey" on the front). What other accessories should I add? I was thinking of adding a cherry wood dash trim but I'm still not sure about it. - Okay... so, my car doesn't need a purse. Thanks. - I'm not thinking of adding lifts because I'm going for a more luxurious look and feel. - The custom stickers is a nice idea... but again, I'm going for a more luxurious look and feel. Haha... I'm not rich. I'm a full-time student and I work part-time from home. I've just been saving to work on my car for a long time... then I decided to buy a new car and use that savings toward the new car instead. But I do like your idea about the striping... do you have any websites that I can look at to see a few good examples? Answer: as for me i would find someone who does PIN striping and let him or her go crazy with it. its obvious u have plenty of money. let hime do the wheels and interior also. these ppl r great artist. u could do some airbrushing also. i would most definiately do the dash, that would b awesome. u may also look into LED light strips to go alog the edges of the roof on the interior and maybe the floor. xterras r the bomb. |

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. here's a picture of it: http://i27.tinypic.com/6ydy4x.jpg KBB Value is somewhere around $12,100 (suggested retail value) - but like I'm still intersted in thoughts and opinions from people who might know more than I do. Answer: It's a base model sentra. New it sold for about $11K. Probably (don't have a book on hand or know the condition of the car) $4000 - $4500 wholesale trade-in. I'd offer them $5500 and stick to my guns! If they don't wanna take the offer... walk away. They are putting it to you HARD at $8999. That warranty is overpriced as well. Offer them $1000 for the warranty (in full as it is for the $1795! Not stripped down.) And just for kicks and giggles: If your credit is good (or your co-signer's is) thell them the interest rate is 1% too high. Most dealerships pack 3% (legally) on top of the buy rate they get for your loan from the lender. Better yet, have financing lined up prior to going in. |
