how can i sell 1940 vintage hood and fenders? Question: I have a grill, headlight rings, hood and both front fenders to a 1940 Ford sedan. They are original, and in fair condition. Answer: I would also go to car shows and check out car clubs if you want to get full price. They are pretty rare and there is a club that caters to the 1939 / 1940 Fords which your parts will fit. |

What are those 2 holes on the hood of the vintage mustangs? Question: The hood has that raised block with 2 holes or openings..what is that? Answer: Well if I'm right it's to help colder air reach the carb, colder air= better engine performance. It could also provide enough room for the engine block to fit in the engine bay. |

How can I safely remove ink stains from vintage pens? Question: I purchased a Parker 21 vintage pen. It is RED. But whomever had it before me dipped the whole hood deep into their ink. The stain left really detracts from the looks of the pen. I'd like to get rid of the ink stain but I'm afraid of bleaching out the plastic or lucite or whatever material Parker used for this (and other pens.) It's a really nice pen and I'd love to clean it up but I don't want to ruin it. Anybody have any experience with this problem? Thank you. Answer: You can clean it, but it will take away from the value of it. Use either KISS OFF or AMODEX. Do follow the directions. |

It removes everything especially money from your wallet! I sprayed some on a stack of bills and they disappeared! I sprayed some on my mother-in-law and she disappeared, too! Does there exist a vintage car with an Indian head as a hood ornament? Answer: The old Pontiacs had that. That is where they got the nickname "Tin Indian". At least until the dumbazz teenies thought a "Goat" was a misspelled GTO (It was a Dodge Ram). And it was not necessarily a Starchief. It could have been a Firechief or a Chieftain but not a Bonneville. Earlier Pontiacs had the emblem even before these names were attached. |

Do I need brake lever hoods to do bar tape and make it look good? Is there a way to wrap the bar without hoods Question: I recently purchased a vintage Schwinn Varsity and I wanted to wrap the handlebars with bar tape but I do not have brake lever hoods. The vintage ad I have of the bike shows the bars wrapped without brake lever hoods but I have not seen this done anywhere on the web in terms of do-it-yourself instructions. Should I start looking for hoods or try to mimic the ad? Answer: Benz and Caddy are correct both are on cars cars from 1973 to 1989 when they figured out that the cars will get .000000015 miles better per gallon w/out them with the age of aerodynamics. Not worth anything yet but clean them up and someday they will in about another 20 years. or you can have them dipped in chrome or gold you can sell them to a gangsta for a necklace with a big chain |
