Are vintage Fenders better quality than newer ones? Question: I always hear guitar enthusiasts say vintage 50's-60's Fenders are better quality than newer ones because they were all hand made and not mass produced. But I just don't understand that concept. Don't factory machines eliminate all the human error? I just don't get how "hand-made" is supposed to be so great. Also, were 70's Strats better quality and less mass produced than 80's Strats? Answer: The Strat my Dad bought in '89 plays a lot better than the one I bought in January... |

how can i sell 1940 vintage hood and fenders? Question: I have a grill, headlight rings, hood and both front fenders to a 1940 Ford sedan. They are original, and in fair condition. Answer: I would also go to car shows and check out car clubs if you want to get full price. They are pretty rare and there is a club that caters to the 1939 / 1940 Fords which your parts will fit. |

Can anybody recommend for me a good distortion/boost pedal for a vintage Silverface Twin Reverb? Question: I am planning on buying a vintage Fender Twin Reverb from a local music store. As you may already know, however, this is a very clean amp. I was looking for some suggestions as to what type of pedal i should get to get a nice overdrive tone while still maintaining some of the wonderful characters of the amp. P.S. I play a stratocaster Answer: Twin Reverb is a really clean amp. The Tube screamer is good and if you ant to control the distortion more. get the Boss DS-1 Disotrtion. You will get a nice clean sustain with it especially with the Stratocaster. Also, if you do add a disotrion and you need more bite. Lower the Master volume on the Twin and turn the Gain or Volume uo to 8. That is one way of pushing the pre-amp and get the tubes to rock a little more :-) |

How much is my '80s vintage Japanese Fender electric guitar worth? Question: Black with a white pickguard, three pickups, five-way pickup adjuster, whammy bar. It's an 80's vintage Jap-made guitar, which someone told me could probably fetch a thousand dollars. Is that accurate, or not? What could I sell it for? Answer: Dude i'd vote for over a grand. but thats mint condition. I'm guessing Maple fredboard and Fender Pickups? If you had it for say 4 years its probably around 800 Damages bring it down as you can guess. But in with luck and a fender-fan, you can get that 1000 |
